Permission to Make Ugly Art | Sketchbook Rituals #1

What if your sketchbook became a ritual instead of a task? In this video, I’m sharing a look into my sketchbook practice and the rituals that has become one of the most grounding parts of my creative life. Most days begin the same way. I light a candle, pull a card or several, set an intention, paint intuitively, and end with a quick journal entry. The process shifts daily, but the ritual helps me slow down, pay attention, and reconnect with myself through art. Lately I’ve been reaching for tarot, oracle decks, and animal spirit cards depending on what I feel drawn to. Over time, collecting decks has become a bit of an obsession. I love how each one carries its own visual language, symbolism, and energy. Today’s Pull: The High Priestess Tarot Deck: Every Little Thing You Do Is Magic Message: Trust yourself. Listen closely. Let things reveal themselves in their own timing. The High Priestess is deeply connected to intuition, mystery, emotion, and the subconscious. Associated with the moon and the element of water, she reminds us that not everything needs to be forced or fully understood right away. Sometimes the most important part of creating is allowing.
