Bilateral Meeting between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Cambodia 02/11/2025

State Dining Room, Malacañan Palace February 11, 2025 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. holds a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace on February 11, 2025. The Cambodian Prime Minister is in the country for a two-day official visit to discuss various aspects of bilateral, regional and international cooperation. The two leaders are set to preside over the exchange of several signed documents on bilateral cooperation. This is the first visit of Prime Minister Hun Manet to the Philippines since assuming office, following an invitation from President Marcos Jr. The two leaders met multiple times at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits, with their most recent encounter in March 2024. Accompanying Prime Minister Manet during his visit are his wife, Pich Chanmony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn, and a business delegation. The Philippines and Cambodia officially established diplomatic relations on 20 August 1957, which were resumed in December 1994 after a 26-year hiatus. The Philippines re-established its resident mission in Phnom Penh and formally reopened the Philippine Embassy in January 1995.
