This set of extended excerpts was sung in Frederick Jameson's English translation, and consisted of twenty-six sides, seventeen of which were conducted by Albert Coates, seven by Eugene Goossens, and two by Percy Pitt. The four works are, in sequence: "Das Rheingold" ("The Rhinegold"), "Die Walküre" ("The Valkyrie"), "Siegfried", and "Götterdämmerung" ("Twilight of the Gods"). The complete cycle was first performed at the Bayreuth Festival Theatre in 1876.
