The four works are, in sequence: "Das Rheingold" ("The Rhinegold"), "Die Walküre" ("The Valkyrie"), "Siegfried", and "Götterdämmerung" ("Twilight of the Gods"). The complete cycle was first performed at the Bayreuth Festival Theatre in 1876.
