News Words: Rent
Welcome to the Voice of America’s News Words. One popular Christmas tradition involves buying a real evergreen tree, decorating it and then, at the end of the season, throwing it away. RENT Many people buy fake trees to reuse, but most like the feel and smell of a real one. A business in Britain offers living trees for rent. When the Christmas season ends, the tree is returned and cared for until next time. Rent is an agreement of payment for the temporary use of goods, services or property.
