Dana Point GRIND! | SoCal Fishing

Trying a new beach today. I decided to take a drive to Dana Point, CA to check out the surf. I was recommended by many to come check out this beach. The water looked a bit murky when I got there. We just had some rain the day before. I didnt think it would affect the water this much but I guess the area I was fishing at was by a run off. I still gave it a shot. There was not much biting at the surf so I moved to the harbor right next to it, in hopes of clearer water. That's when I finally hooked up to my 1st fish! A little Halibut! I got the Halibut all the way to me and as I grabbed my line, the Halibut shook off my hook. Does that count as a catch? haha Later on, I moved back onto the beach and gave a few last cast. I was finally able to land another Halibut. This time, I got my hands on it! haha Slow day but I got to chat with a few surfer and met some nice people and caught a few fish. I say it was a good day.
