Damaged Attic Vent Replacement – Wildlife Exclusion (Guelph)

A damaged attic vent was replaced at this Guelph property following the successful removal of wildlife from the attic. With animal activity confirmed to have ended, the temporary one way door was removed and the roof was restored by installing a new attic vent and completing the final stage of the wildlife exclusion process. The existing attic vent was carefully removed, exposing the original roof opening. Before the replacement vent was installed, all previous fastener holes and roof penetrations were sealed with waterproof roofing sealant to help protect the roof system from moisture. A new attic vent was then secured using screws, with every fastener waterproofed as part of the installation. Once the replacement vent was installed, the vent cover and surrounding roof area were fully sealed and reinforced to restore proper roof ventilation while preventing future access by squirrels, raccoons, birds, and other wildlife. Replacing damaged attic vents is an important part of long-term wildlife-proofing and helps eliminate one of the most common roof entry points. Work was performed by Andrew in Guelph, with attic vent replacement, roof waterproofing, and final wildlife exclusion completed during this visit.
