'MMDAs sitting on funds meant for PWDs' - Local Gov't Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim fumes in Parliament

Local Government Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim, has raised concerns over the handling of funds meant for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), accusing some Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) of failing to disburse the allocations to intended beneficiaries. Speaking in Parliament during proceedings marking National Disability Day, the Minister urged Members of Parliament to take a more active role in monitoring how these funds are managed at the local level. He stressed that closer oversight is necessary to ensure that support intended for PWDs actually reaches them and is not delayed or mismanaged by implementing agencies.
