As requested, today we’ll be exploring The Pope’s Exorcist, the recently released supernatural horror, based on the life works of Father Gabriele Amorth, a renowned Catholic priest and chief exorcist appointed by the Diocese of Rome. Starring Russel Crowe as the titular exorcist, Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe and Franco Nero, it follows Gabriele in a fictional tale as he attempts to rid a child of demonic possession. Along the way, he unlocks dark secrets about the Vatican that threaten to destabilise the fragile balance between good and evil. Directed by Julias Avery, the piece of revisionist history essentially encompasses Gabrielle’s lifelong struggle to validify the need for exorcisms in the modern age. In this video we’re going to explore the story, the real-life Father Gabriele Amorth, the church’s dark history during the many inquisitions, in addition to the demon he is forced to confront.
