Zink - wie das Instrument gebaut wird

The House of Instruments (www.hausderinstrumente.ch) in Lucerne-Kriens is dedicated to the intangible cultural heritage of handcrafted musical instrument making. Its existing collection of approximately 900 musical instruments forms the basis of this work. Guided tours of the House of Instruments allow visitors to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of sound-producing instruments. Communicating this knowledge to a broad audience is the foundation of our work. Only when you know something can you truly appreciate it. Documenting the construction of musical instruments is another important step in preserving knowledge and tradition. Two students, Valentin Lupp and Raúl Sabiote, from the Lucerne School of Music, accompanied woodwind instrument maker Christoph Schuler (https://allantica.ch/) during the construction of three cornetts (choir cornett, tenor cornett, and silent cornett) and documented the instruments' creation with their smartphone cameras. The result is an impressive half-hour film.
