Niño hirió a compañera en colegio de Bogotá con pistola que le robó a un familiar

A 15-year-old student remains under medical observation at Kennedy Hospital in southwest Bogotá after being shot inside her school. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and how a minor managed to bring a revolver onto school grounds. According to information obtained by Ojo de la Noche, the incident occurred while students were in class. According to reports, one of the students allegedly said he would shoot his classmate. However, the teenager believed it was a joke and didn't imagine the boy would actually fire the weapon. The bullet struck the girl in the legs, and she was immediately taken to Kennedy Hospital, where she remains under specialized care. Doctors are conducting various tests to determine the severity of her injuries, as the bullet remains lodged in one of her legs. The girl's mother recounted how the events unfolded. The student's mother stated that, according to her daughter, everything happened unexpectedly inside the classroom. The family member also expressed concern for the teenager's health, whose prognosis remains guarded, and demanded that the case not go unpunished. Furthermore, she asserted that she has not received any institutional support to date. According to her testimony, the authorities have not contacted the family since the incident occurred. Meanwhile, authorities confirmed the arrest of the student allegedly involved. The minor is being held at the Immediate Reaction Unit (URI) for minors, located at Carrera 30 and Calle 12, while the corresponding legal proceedings are underway. Preliminary information indicates that the revolver used belongs to the teenager's father, who, according to initial reports, is a member of the National Police. This aspect is also part of the investigation, which seeks to determine how the weapon left its place of safekeeping and ended up in the student's hands. Authorities are gathering testimonies and other material evidence to clarify what happened, establish the corresponding responsibilities, and determine if there were any failures in the access controls at the school.
