Starting 8th, Cooper knew he had to get to 4th or better to earn enough passing points to transfer to the main. He charged all the way to 2nd… then everything changed. A car slowed unexpectedly in front of him, and with nowhere to go, contact sent her spinning. The officials sent Cooper back to the tail of the field.
