Custom Metal Fabrication: Nomad Inner Fender Takes Shape
After many hours of measuring, fabricating, bead rolling, hammer bagging, and shaping sheet metal on the English wheel, Blair finishes hand-building the driver’s side front inner fender for Lyall’s 1955 Chevrolet Nomad. Every panel is built from scratch to achieve the proper fit between the fender and firewall while maintaining the strength and appearance expected in a high-quality restoration. Blair walks through the final fabrication, fitting, trimming, and finishing of the panel before it is ready for installation. At The Bodysmith, preserving classic vehicles means combining traditional metalworking skills with careful craftsmanship—one panel at a time. If you enjoy classic car restoration, metal fabrication, and learning how these projects come together, be sure to subscribe and join our Focus Group.
