Fabricating the Nomad Front Inners | Part 1
After many hours of fabricating, bending, bead rolling, hammer bagging, and running sheet metal through the English wheel, the front inner fenders for Lyall’s 1955 Chevrolet Nomad are finally taking shape. In this episode, Blair completes the passenger-side front inner and finishes the lower section of the driver’s side. Every piece is hand-built from flat steel, requiring careful measuring, shaping, trimming, and test fitting to match the original body while improving the fit. These panels may not be highly visible once the car is assembled, but they’re an important part of building a quality restoration that will last for years. Part 2 will pick up where this episode leaves off as Blair fabricates the upper section of the driver’s side front inner and brings the pair one step closer to completion.
