Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? | Meet the Third Country Girlfriend

#SchumanShow Do you remember the first time you brought your partner home to meet your parents? It often marks an important step in every relationship, and it's natural to have nerves. But what if your partner is.. different.. from you? In this sketch, The Schuman Show puts the spotlight on two couples at a family dinner. Philippe, a Eurobrat, is at the table with Marie, his Canadian girlfriend. The two lovebirds having met while on exchange in Quebec, this will be the first time Marie meets Philippe's parents - Sophie and Gerhard, two EU fonctionnaires from France and Germany respectively. The issue? The elder Eurocrats don't know that Marie is actually - dare we say it - a THIRD COUNTRY NATIONAL! Keenly aware of the state of the world, yet never losing sight of the ideal of a love that pushes beyond the confines of prejudice in a time where such unions may still be frowned upon...
