In this satirical sketch, The Schuman Show takes you through the infamously absurd — and painfully relatable — experience of navigating Belgian administration. Meet Tristan, an eager expat who finds himself stuck in a Brussels commune, where nothing moves—except the clock and his patience. He has lost count of the times he's been here, as he never quite had all the forms the Belgian state requires of him. Tristan is trying to get Belgian citizenship, and it's been quite the tedious experience, as can be seen in this sketch. From endless certificates and forms, to bizarre challenges to prove his worth, Tristan’s attempt to gain Belgian citizenship spirals into a hilarious and surreal nightmare. Can he prove his worth by mastering the art of frites sauces or singing the national anthem with gusto? Or will he be buried under piles of paperwork by an unbothered civil servant?
