PUBLIC ENCOURAGED TO EMBRACE EMIS PROGRAM
School heads and management teams in Kasese have been inducted on the Education Management Information System (EMIS) – an ICT management tool that integrates people, technology, and practices in the process of collecting, storing, and processing data from schools nationwide. The training was held this afternoon at Kasese P.7 School in Kasese Municipality. Ms. Tobia Kyomuhendo, Acting Principal Education Officer for Kasese Municipality, urged the public to turn up and register their children to enable proper future planning. The system requires both the parent and the child to be present for complete registration. According to Deputy Town Clerk for Kasese Municipality, Zedekia Kambasu Kayiri, the training is aimed at raising awareness and ensuring teachers take full responsibility in enabling government to easily track learners. However, some school heads, including Mr. Benson Dan Masereka, Headteacher of Kamaiba Primary School, and Kabega Erias, Headteacher of Kasese Muslim Primary School, highlighted challenges encountered in the registration exercise. They called for government support, especially in mobilizing the public effectively. END
