Vintage Schindler Elevator - 66B Lebuh Penang, George Town, MY

The FIRST Schindler elevator I've filmed in 2023! Possibly one of the only three vintage Schindler elevators left in Penang, the others are in the Waldorf Hotel and the now closed Federal Budget Hotel. Completely original from the 1960s with scissor gate, it looks just like the ones you would find in old apartment buildings in Hong Kong! Sadly the buttons aren't the pop-out type but still nice anyway. It also has the distinctive old Schindler fan grille design; this is the exact same fan design as the one used in the old Dakota SIT flats, Gleneagles Hospital and Shaw Centre fireman's elevator in Singapore. Bugger that the fan switch also turns on/off the car light. Thanks to John Elevator for finding this amazing old gem! Definitely worth the try if you're in Penang.
