XP Icon Has A Spectacular Day At The Beach

The BeachCut alert said conditions were changing—so I grabbed the new XP Metal Detectors Icon X and headed to the beach. What followed was an incredible hunt filled with silver jewelry, chains, rings, earrings and a possible 14K gold-and-diamond find! In this video, I test the Icon X in wet sand and moving saltwater, where its quiet, stable performance really impressed me. I also explain the science behind metal-detecting depth, why simply adding more power isn’t practical, and why iron mitigation may be the next major frontier in detector technology. The real key to this hunt was recognizing a concentrated target patch created by a small erosive event. Using BeachCut’s weather alert, the negative tide, exposed shells, rocks and changes in the beach profile, I located an area holding multiple pieces of jewelry—even though this beach gets pounded by detectorists. Some of the finds include: 💍 Multiple silver rings and earrings ✨ An earring that acid-tested as 14K gold ⛓️ A heavy gold-plated 925 silver chain 🕶️ Wearable sunglasses 🚒 A toy fire truck 🔗 Several bracelets and chains 🪙 Coins, fishing sinkers and plenty of aluminum Never walk away from a concentration of targets until you have searched it from multiple directions. One small patch can hold nearly everything the beach is willing to give up!
