This adventure begins with a solo hunt, where I uncover an incredible collection of Barber Quarters, Barber Dimes, silver relics, and fascinating early 1900s artifacts. One of the biggest surprises of the day was recovering a beautiful Canadian silver dime, along with discovering what looked like an extremely promising new location that deserved another visit. A few days later I returned with my good friends Tony and Texas Relic Hunter (Chris), and what happened next exceeded all of our expectations. Tony made one of the rarest finds we have ever witnessed while metal detecting, a Liberty Cap Half Cent dating back to the late 1700s. Even in dug condition, these colonial era coins are exceptionally scarce and represent an incredible piece of early American history. As if that was not enough, Tony followed it up by digging a beautiful Seated Liberty silver coin, making this one of the best days he has ever had in the field. The incredible discoveries did not stop there. I recovered countless silver coins dating back to the late 1800s, while Chris from Texas Relic Hunter unearthed a stunning engraved sterling silver thimble that is well over a century old. Every recovery left us wondering what once stood here and how so many valuable coins and treasured personal belongings came to be lost, buried, and forgotten for more than 100 years.
