Robert Young Divine Will Luisa Piccarreta Meditation on Vol. 12, Reading by Reading from the Book of Heaven On the life and the beautiful gifts that Fr. Robert Young, OFM, received from God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—gifts that he experienced, cultivated, and shared with joy and generosity with all his brothers and sisters in Christ. Fr. Robert Young was born in Orange, Texas, USA, on July 12, 1949. He was baptized at St. Mary's Church, where he received the sacraments and was nourished by the faith. He entered the Franciscan community of the Province of Santa Barbara, California. He completed the required years of seminary study and took his first vows in 1975. He was ordained a priest on September 11, 1982, at Mission Santa Barbara, California. After his ordination, Father Robert celebrated his first Mass at St. Mary's Church. He was assigned to ministry with the Topowa Indians in Arizona, and later to several parishes: in Portland, Oregon; Three Rivers, California; San Francisco, California; Tularosa, New Mexico; Pensacola, Florida; Tallahassee, Florida; and Santa Barbara, California. For a time, he lived in the Holy Land; he often said he would have preferred to return to live in the mountains of Jerusalem. He was assigned to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he continued his ministry in the United States and Europe, dedicated primarily to spreading the Divine Will. At the beginning of his priesthood, he met Sister Briege McKenna, who prophesied that his mission would be that of the Visitation. After some time, his ordination led him to move to Israel, to the Church of the Visitation, where he resided for several years. He was appointed a Papal Missionary of Mercy by Pope John Paul II. As a missionary, he traveled to numerous countries, leading retreats, and as a speaker, he was invited to participate in numerous conferences. He had the honor of concelebrating Mass with Pope John Paul II. Father Robert is a humble man, and his accomplishments, which he doesn't talk about, are numerous. He holds master's degrees in Theology, English, and Philosophy. He speaks several languages ​​fluently, plays numerous musical instruments, and sings. He is a talented writer and speaker. Father Robert's main mission for the last 16 years has been to help others discover, know, love, and live the "Will of God" in their lives, particularly by speaking about the life and writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta. He worked as the director of Radio Maria in Alexandria, Louisiana. There, he hosted a weekly radio program for the past six years on the spirituality of the "KINGDOM OF THE DIVINE WILL." In April 2016, Fr. Robert received permission from his Provincial to become a "Missionary of the New Evangelization," and he moved to the St. Anthony Retreat Community in St. Petersburg, Florida. There, he met monthly with a "Divine Will" group at Christ the King Church in Tampa, Florida, to discuss the "GIFT OF LIVING IN THE DIVINE WILL." Fr. Robert was very kind, a calm and peaceful man, and a lifelong defender of the Mother Church and her mission, showing great respect for his superiors and selfless love for his brothers and sisters in Christ. He was always cautious and, through respectful dialogue, worked for unity, especially in his efforts to spread the "DIVINE WILL." At one stage of his life, he intensely enjoyed his ministry, reaching many people around the world by spreading the “Divine Will,” the life, and the writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta. He often said, “My greatest joy is helping people discover and achieve their deepest purpose in life: to live each moment in the ‘Will of God.’ That is what we were created for, and it is the only way to find lasting peace in this world.” Many of us will be grateful for his generous response to God’s grace, which allowed him to live completely dedicated to the glory of God and the good of His Church, and especially for the years he devoted entirely to the Kingdom of the “Divine Will.”
