The ISA/IEC 62443 standards are the only global, structured framework defining cybersecurity requirements for automation products. Part 4-1 defines a comprehensive secure product development cycle, while Part 4-2 addresses the requirements for security features necessary to ensure the safe operation of the product in a defined threat environment. These standards are not only unique but, above all, have been proven over many years, both by manufacturers and operators of critical OT/ICS systems in which such products are installed. In recent years, the value of these standards has been recognized by many government cybersecurity agencies around the world, introducing them as mandatory requirements. Will this also be the case in Europe, where the Cyber ​​Resiliency Act (CRA) will take effect in a few months?
