Inside the 2020 Green Race #5 – The Sights and Sounds of the 2020 Green Race

As crazy as this year has been with Covid 19, Elections, Hurricanes, and Wildfires we could at least still count on the Green Race to bring us all together, at least virtually, to witness and be a part of the good stuff: friends, stories, a great place, great kayaking, and always a little chaos. Shane Benedict brings you the Sights and Sounds of Green Race day 2020.  This year because of the pandemic the organizers asked the crowds to stay away and in return, John Grace and crew ran a fiber optic cable 3000 feet out of the gorge and to a hotspot on the rim. For the first time ever the Green Race was live!  With 6 cameras up and down the racecourse and a couple of drones buzzing around the coverage was fast and furious.  It was also great to have former Green Race champ Al Gregory and high energy banter master Brian Miller commentating on the event and covering the highlights. go to greenrace.us for more info
