Apuntes sobre historia del arte: El Petit Trianon
Within the Versailles complex, Louis XV commissioned the construction of a small palace, the Petit Trianon, which allows us to examine two distinct styles: the Rococo, of the king who commissioned it, and the Louis XVI style, of the queen who inhabited it, Marie Antoinette. We will mention: The Duke of Orléans, Philippe II (1674-1723), regent of France during the minority of Louis XV, between 1715 and 1723. Louis XV (1710-1774), portrayed by Hyacinthe Rigaud, Maurice Quentin de la Tour, and Louis Michel Van Loo, among others. The Petit Trianon, an architectural work by Ange-Jacques Gabriel, built between 1762 and 1768 for Madame de Pompadour, mistress of Louis XV, but inhabited by Madame du Barry and later by Queen Marie Antoinette. We will mention: The Queen's Hamlet, a work by Richard Mique, commissioned in 1782. Edmé Bouchardon, sculptor of the Eros statue in the Temple of Love at the Trianon gardens.
