Why I Bought a 12-Year-Old Analog Liter Bike: Triumph Speed Triple 1050

After two seasons on my Triumph Trident 660, I wanted to find out: should I have skipped the middleweight category entirely and gone straight to a hyper-naked? In this video, we review a 2013 Triumph Speed Triple 1050 (a $4,500 Facebook Marketplace find) to see if jumping from an 81 HP mid-range bike to a 128 HP analog liter bike is worth the sacrifice. We break down the raw history of the "Streetfighter" and naked bike segment, do a full walk-around, test out the aftermarket Arrow exhaust, and take it on the road to compare the throttle response, clutch pull, and fun factor. Is the Trident 660 just a gateway drug to sportbikes, or is it the better daily rider? Let’s find out. Special thanks to Kevin for letting me pilot his Speed Triple for the last few weeks.
