HOW TO DRAW HARRY LUCEY'S ARCHIE COMICS 1

N THIS EPISODE: Harry Lucey was my favorite Archie Comics artist. I have a stack of comics he drew back in the 60s and 70s before he got out of comics due to an illness. Here is a link to his Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_L... His work had a certain look to it that simplified everything in a very pleasing way. A drawing and inking style that set the look for the Archie comics line, building on what was already done when the line started. Harry Lacey had been a super hero comics artist back in the 40s and 50s, drawing heroes such as “The Hangman” and others for MLJ Comics. At some point Marvel Comics artist Chic Stone was inking Harry Lucey’s Archie comics. Beautiful thick and thin lines make these comics a great course in how to draw humor/teen comics. There is also a very slight resemblance to the Scooby Doo series, in the simplicity of designs and maybe some of the pose styles. I’ll make another video soon with an inking demonstration for this type of art. Keep drawing. Look up Harry Lucey and take a close look at his artwork. One of the greats!
