When The Sky Turned White | Snow Geese Migration at Goose Pond

Over the course of two weeks starting in mid-February, the marsh at Goose Pond shifted from deep winter cold toward an early thaw. Snow geese begin to gather across the frozen wetlands — restless, waiting. Then the moment comes. Wings rise from the marsh in waves. The sound builds like distant thunder. And suddenly the sky turns white. This is the final chapter in a three-part winter migration series filmed at Goose Pond Fish & Wildlife Area in western Indiana.
