In this video, we take you and the whole family to explore Xunantunich, the second most important archaeological site in Belize, home to El Castillo, a 40-meter-high pyramid from which you can see all the way to Guatemala. An unforgettable experience! 📍 WHERE IS IT LOCATED? Xunantunich is located in the Cayo District, in western Belize, about 15 minutes from San Ignacio and very close to the Guatemalan border. ⛴️ THE RAFT CROSSING To reach the ruins, you have to cross the Mopan River on a hand-operated raft, and it's completely FREE! However, the operators accept tips and deserve them, so bring a couple of dollars to show your appreciation.
