Belize Was Not What We Expected

Belize is usually sold as turquoise water and beach days. But this trip starts the opposite way. We land in Belize City, rent a car, and head inland, into jungle roads, ancient Mayan ruins, river caves, and waterfalls that feel like they belong in a different country. Somewhere in the middle, we slow down long enough to make chocolate from scratch… and it ends up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire trip. And then we make our way back to the coast, expecting one thing, finding something else.
