On October 17th and 21st, I went to Senri Minami Park and Senri Central Park. On the 17th, I saw many migratory and wintering birds, including the Japanese bush warbler, the Japanese flycatcher, the yellow-breasted flycatcher, and the mandarin duck. The native birds were also wonderful. There were many moorhens, little grebes, little grebe chicks, great tits, long-tailed tits, varied tits, Japanese pygmy woodpeckers, and kingfishers. It's rare to find such a park rich in nature in a scenic city. So, I went back on the 21st to show my son, but the Japanese bush warbler had already left. Migratory birds migrate quickly, so it's natural not to see them, but I'm glad I went. I made many new discoveries. It was truly a journey of exploration, discovery, and "Hottoken." Now, I'm showing the places I've visited. It's based on the idea of ​​"Hottoken." When I explore and discover rare wild birds, I'm moved. It's fun. Showing the locations makes me realize how irreplaceable and wonderful the places I discover are, and I feel motivated to protect them. It also leads to protecting the natural environment. People don't notice the presence of precious creatures in places where they don't exist, and they don't even mind if the area is concreted and paved with asphalt. Even if there are birds there, they don't feel guilty about killing them because they didn't know about it. I think letting the world know that "there are precious wild birds in XX location" is effective in preventing trees from being cut down and concrete cliffs being built. That's what we mean by the "three principles of exploration, discovery, and leaving alone." But it's also exciting and fun when you simply discover something. Of course, when indicating locations, I think it's important for each and every birdwatcher (including myself) to observe good manners. This means not occupying an area in large groups and blocking people passing by, not cutting branches and grass to make it easier to see, and not getting too close to the birds and causing them stress.
