Report by Serambi Indonesia Journalist Dede Rosadi I Aceh Singkil SERAMBINEWS.COM, SINGKIL - A demonstration demanding subsistence allowances (Jadup) for flood victims in the courtyard of the Aceh Singkil Regent's office heated up on Monday (June 8, 2026). The Regent of Aceh Singkil, Safriadi Oyon, even shouted at one of the protesters to sit down. The regent's shouting was triggered when he was asked to sign a statement read by protest coordinator Buyung Sanang. Safriadi stated that the document was unilaterally drafted. The protesters immediately shouted at the statement. One demonstrator, who had been sitting, immediately stood up and shouted loudly that the statement was not unilateral. Instead, it was an agreement of all protesters. Safriadi then asked the protester to sit down in a loud voice. If his demands were ignored, Safriadi threatened to leave the demonstration.
