The via ferrata is located on the high cliffs between Barret de l'Àliga and Creu de Carboneres, sculpted by the erosion of the Salt del Botanal waterfall. It's a route designed for everyone. Although rated K5, the most challenging sections—the overhang of Torre Roia and the 50-meter-long Nepalese bridge—can both be avoided. By skipping these key sections, the via ferrata becomes a more accessible K3. And that's precisely the intention of the via ferrata's creators: the Alins Town Council, the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, and the route developers, the ECEM Mountain School—to create a via ferrata for all. Three Sectors, Two Escape Routes, and Two Avoidable Sections ECEM are renowned route builders with routes like Poi d'Unha, Taro d'Arties, and Tossal de Miravet to their credit. These routes share common features such as mandatory climbing sections, sustained difficulty, and a long hike with excellent views. True to their style, the Salt del Botanal via ferrata is a 480-meter-long route with a variety of sections and very good views over the town of Alins.
