Our first talk in the series, ‘Different ways - risk, creativity and being brave’ with Hannah, Co-Director of Nudge Community Builder shares some of their experience of bringing buildings back into use as a community in the Union Street Conservation Area in Plymouth. She shares some of the challenges and reflects on how being brave, creative and taking risks has helped unlock buildings that have stood empty for over 15 years. Notes on the speaker: Hannah is passionate about making lasting change on the street and disrupting systems that hold communities back. She loves making things and bringing colour to the street. Hannah lives in Stonehouse with her family and has volunteered in the community for over 10 years before starting Nudge. She has a background in community engagement and regeneration projects. She previously worked for Plymouth City Council Planning Department leading on the long term planning for the city and how communities get involved in change that was nationally recognised for its innovation and impact by the RTPI. Before this she led on Audience Development at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery building on her work as Community Manager at the Ragged School Museum in Tower Hamlets, London.
