Bare bones My4TH single board computer kit running Forth

A look into the single board My4TH computer kit as designed by Dennis Kuschel. The My4TH has an impressive development history that is described on the creators website : www.mynor.org . The My4TH is special because it does not make use of classis processors or microcontrollers, but only 74xx series HCMOS logic that are still produced, and three memory chips ( ROM, RAM, and EEPROM ) that are from a more recent generation. The project description emphasises that the My4TH does not incorporate a ALU ( Arithmatic and Logic Unit ) but implements all processing using a single NOR gate. Despite the simplistic components use, the My4TH can perform serial communications and interface to I2C peripherals. The firmware is contained in ROM and its sources are well documented and made public on the designer's website. I have built a demonstration set, and prepared a number of kits with the remainings of the purchased components, and a few that I already had such as the W27C512 electrically erasable ROM that enables easy upgrading of the firmware with a low cost programmer. The hardware bundles as shown in here are listed and obtainable on eBay.de (Germany). You can also opt for an assembled board on application, which includes a USB-to-serial adapter, USB cable, and some interconnection wires.
