Jackie Brown Trocadero Cinema Wurlitzer 1959.

Jackie Brown Plays the Wurlitzer Organ in the Trocadero Cinema, Elephant & Castle, London in April 1959. This recording was made by someone who attended this April 1959 organ concert at the Trocadero Cinema. I can only assume this reel to reel recording was made on a very basic mono reel to reel 1950s tape recorder of that period and used at that concert in the cinema to record this tape. And then the tape had been left for 40 years in less than ideal storage conditions in a damp wooden garden shed! So please note the sound quality is not up to a professional recording and the tape in parts had suffered from the sticky shed tape syndrome. I have spent many hours trying to get this tape rejoined up and up to some sort of listening quality within it its limitations of what you have to work with. There sadly is still background noises and tape hiss and sometimes the mighty Troc Wurlitzer just blasts this 1950s small mono microphone so be warned if you listen with headphones. But that aside I thought this was well worth including on YouTube as there is so little of the excellent playing and musical style of Jackie Brown and plus as a historic recording from within the Trocadero cinema. Sadly Jackie Brown was an organist I never got to see or hear live, I have always so admired his style of playing. And how I would have loved to have seen and heard this organ in the most magnificent Trocadreo cinema. For anyone wanting to know more about the history of this fine Wurlitzer organ please do take a look at this site re-link below. http://www.troxy-wurlitzer.org/history/ In better times do check out the Cinema Organ Society pages for concerts on this Wurlitzer organ now in the Troxy Stepney or even better do try to support the COS who help save and have looked after this fine Wurlitzer organ since it left the Trocadero Cinema in 1960. https://www.cinema-organs.org.uk/
