James Bond Wet Nellie submarine - Lotus Esprit (Fujimi 1/24 scale model)

Building the submarine version of the Lotus Esprit that featured in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. During a chase sequence where Bond and Soviet agent Amasova are chased by Stromberg's cronies, Bond drives the Esprit off a pier. Thanks to the work of Q branch, the car is then able to convert into "wet Nellie", a submarine. Fun fact: the prop submarine used in the film was actually a "wet submarine" meaning that the interior floods and the 'driver' had to wear scuba gear; to maintain the illusion of Bond and Amasova being safe and dry inside, the Esprit submarine features heavy window slats to hide the interior.
