LCDR Caroline Wilkinson of NOAA's Office of Coast Survey speaks about efforts to map the seafloor in Prince William Sound. High-resolution bathymetry supports safe navigation, seafloor characterization, and modeling. LCDR Caroline Wilkinson is the Alaska Navigation Manager for NOAA's Office of Coast Survey. Her responsibilities include leading emergency response efforts, focusing on NOAA's capability to survey channels and swiftly reopen ports following natural disasters or major storms. She also plays a key role in setting mapping priorities for Alaska and guaranteeing that nautical charts are consistently updated.
