José Ramón Ayllón (Cantabria, 1955) studied Philosophy and Letters at the universities of Oviedo and Valladolid. Coordinator of Nueva Revista and associate professor at the University of Montevideo, he has taught literature, ethics, and philosophy for over twenty years. He is the author of Querido Bruto (Dear Brutus), a historical novel featuring Julius Caesar and designed to spark an interest in the humanities. He has published the young adult novel Vigo es Vivaldi (Vigo is Vivaldi) and several essays. He has also written the biographies Sophie Scholl contra Hitler (Sophie Scholl Against Hitler) and El hombre que fue Chesterton (The Man Who Was Chesterton).
