Hello. Welcome to Nabemi Channel! Today, I visited Kasagidera Temple in Kasagi Town, Soraku District, Kyoto Prefecture! This temple sits atop Mount Kasagi, overlooking the Kizugawa River. Famous for its autumn foliage, the mystical sea of ​​clouds that hangs over the Kizugawa River on early winter mornings is also a popular spot. It has been a sacred place for Iwakura (rock-wall) worship since the Yayoi period. During the Nara period, the "Shogatsudo" (New Year's Hall), believed to be the origin of the Omizutori (water-drawing ceremony) at Todaiji Temple, was built here. During the Kamakura period, the temple flourished with the arrival of the renowned monk Jokei (Jokei), but the entire temple burned down during the reign of Emperor Godaigo. It has since been rebuilt and is now worshipped as a training ground for Shugendo practitioners. Migili stones are scattered throughout the temple grounds, and the principal image is the "Miroku Magaibutsu" (Miroku Magaibutsu), carved into a 15-meter-tall boulder. The carved image can no longer be seen; only the halo remains. *Apparently, Maitreya Bodhisattva is clearly visible in the infrared camera image displayed at the Shogatsudo Hall. I couldn't see it clearly, so I didn't include it in the video. 《Thoughts》 ① The ups and downs were quite intense, and I was honestly worried about whether my legs would hold up, but thanks to the protection of the Buddha at Kasagidera Temple, I made it back safely. ② The road to Kasagidera Temple is narrow, and it's difficult for cars to pass by... From Kasagi Golf, the road is wide and safe! ③ I was a little surprised when I saw Kasayan's stone monument. So it was a real cat... Does that mean the mascot Kasayan is an incarnation?
