【京都府相楽郡】笠置山✨歴史の道と霊場めぐり。下山は猫ちゃんが途中まで送ってくれてめっちゃ可愛かったです💕楽しい山なのでおすすめです(^-^)
I climbed Mount Kasagi in Soraku District, Kyoto Prefecture. Although it's a small mountain, only about 288m high, it's a mountain that has played a significant role in Japanese history. It's a mountain of Iwakura worship, where people worship giant rocks believed to be inhabited by gods. It's also the place where Emperor Go-Daigo rose up to overthrow the Kamakura Shogunate. This time, I visited Mount Kasagi, which marked the beginning of the Nanboku-cho period, and toured the rocks that served as sites for ascetic practices. The Iwakura worship on Mount Kasagi seems to have begun as early as the Yayoi period. (A Yayoi period stone sword was found in a large rock on Mount Kasagi.) The Yayoi period? It might be older than Japanese mythology. Japanese history is truly profound. During the Nara period, a statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva was carved into a giant rock, leading to the founding of Kasagi-dera Temple. A site for ascetic practices was also established around that time by En no Gyoja. And then, the turning point for Kasagi-yama (temple). Emperor Go-Daigo rose up in rebellion on Kasagi-yama, and the war against the Kamakura Shogunate began (the Battle of Kasagi-yama). As a result, Emperor Go-Daigo's side was defeated, and Kasagi-dera was completely burned down. (Afterward, the momentum for overthrowing the Shogunate grew following Kusunoki Masashige's impregnable Chihaya Castle, and the Kamakura Shogunate fell). In the Meiji era, Kasagi-dera was gradually restored and became the temple it is today. We were looking forward to visiting the sacred sites of Kasagi-dera. The sacred sites feature many interesting rock formations. Knowing the history makes the rock tour even more enjoyable. On our way back that day, we met the "Ojiyama Channel" and a super cute cat even saw us off. Apparently, there used to be a guide cat named "Kasayan," so perhaps cats are like guardian spirits of Kasagi-yama. This time, it was a mountain trip filled with history and healing thanks to a cat ( ´ ▽ ` ) YAMAP https://yamap.com/activities/45517013 Yamareco https://www.yamareco.com/modules/yama...
