2025 August Plant Mapping Meetup Quarterly Webinar
In August we heard from two exceptional professionals from NatureServe: Whitney Weber & Amanda Eberly. They shared how their organization and their partners utilize the power of geospatial data to prevent extinction events and further the field of plant conservation. Whitney Weber has served NatureServe and the NatureServe Network as a GIS and database geek for 25 years. Prior to that, she chased animals in the wild, oftentimes with a GPS in hand! Amanda Eberly has been a NatureServe Botanist for over 10 years. She leads a skilled team of botanist and data managers to curate and develop botanical data for the United States and Canada. While immersed in data by day, she spends the off hours documenting biodiversity in her "neighborhood" and beyond on iNaturalist
