I’m more of a runner than a cyclist… but somehow I FOMO’d my way into one of Australia’s hardest one-day cycling events — the Three Peaks Challenge in the Victorian Alps. 235km, over 4,000m of climbing, and one goal: just to finish. ----- 00:00 00:17 What's Peaks Challenge and why did I sign up? 01:31 Shake-out ride and park up at Mount Beauty Bakery 02:35 Pre-race bike check at Falls Resorts 04:10 Race Brief with Lee Turner 05:35 Preparation the night before!! 06:48 Quiet before the race 08:20 Race begins 10:51 Climb 1: Tawonga Gap 11:20 Climb 2 : Mount Hotham 14:09 WTF Corner, Climb 3: Back of Falls 16:04 back at the Falls Resort 16:26 Race finishing 17:21 End of race emotions 19:30 Post Race day, recovery ride 20:51 At hospital I headed to the Victorian Alps for the Three Peaks Challenge — one of Australia’s toughest one-day rides. As someone who’s more of a runner, this was well outside my comfort zone… with 235km and over 4,000m of climbing ahead. This is the full weekend experience — and whether I could actually make it to the finish.
