The following spare parts and tools are required for assembly: Our Bowden cable set - item number 8268 or for tandems, item number 8267, a 200 mm cable cutting tube - alternatively, a folding rule, side cutters, a 2 mm Allen key, a TX20 wrench, an 8 mm hex key, and some grease. The pre-screwed cable box can be easily removed from the shift control. Pull the shift cable completely out and check that its outer casing is firmly attached to the twist grip and the frame and is routed "harmoniously" without any kinks. The cable lengths are longer than necessary and must be cut to a 200 mm overhang. Please pull the first cable out to the grip stop. This will rotate the grip to the final position "Gear 1." This is easiest done with a defined cutting tube. And note: First pull tight, then cut! Before shortening the second cable in the same way as the first, first pull it out to the handle stop "Gear 14." Turn both cable adjusters out about two turns and slide them on. For orientation, in the picture on the right, both shift cables are already inserted into the cable box: the upper one is shift cable 14, and the lower one is shift cable 1. This distinction will be important again when handling the cable pulley: The side with the recess always faces the hub, while the other side with the middle bead always faces the mechanic. Depending on the shift box position, shift cable 14 is inserted into the upper hole of the cable pulley. The second shift cable 1 goes into the remaining lower blind hole of the cable pulley. The lower cable 1 is secured from behind with the Allen key. Now wind shift cable 1 one turn and secure the cable pulley. Shift cable 14 is wound in the opposite direction. Now the fully wound cables are inserted into the cable box. Shift cable 14 is inserted at the top and shift cable 1 at the bottom. The adjustment screws are held in position by the shift box outlets. Ensure the pulley is running correctly by turning the handle through gears 1 to 14. Two TX20 screws close the shift box and complete this sub-step of the cable installation. Gear synchronization is required before attaching the box to the external control. Set the shift handle to position 14 and manually turn the hub counterclockwise to gear 14 using the 8 mm wrench. Apply a little grease to the contact points of the control and shift box. Slightly turning the handle makes it easier to attach the shift box, which is then secured by tightening the large knurled screw. For a final touch, you can adjust the tension on the shift cable housing using the adjustment screws.
