Scenic Drive | Lyseveien road | Suleskard - Lysebotn | Sirdal og Sandnes

SIRDAL/SANDNES: We follow the Lyseveien road between Suleskard in Sirdal municipality and Lysebotn in Sandnes municipality. The road is a popular tourist road that is both narrow and winding, which makes it popular with motorbikers. Øygardsstølen, right at the descent to Lysbotn, is the starting point for the very popular hike to Kjeragsbolten. From Øygardsstølen and down to Lysebotn, the road winds 620 meters in altitude in 27 hairpin bends. One of them is inside the Lyse Tunnel. From Lysebotn it is possible to take a car ferry across the beautiful Lysefjord, under both Kjeragsbolten and the even better-known Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock). We took the car ferry from Lysebotn to Forsand.
