It's important to note that because your Ecobee Thermostat needs to collect data from your thermostat usage habits it may take up to 1 month before the Ecobee + feature is available on your Ecobee Smart Thermostat. The Ecobee + feature was not available on my Ecobee thermostat until after it had been installed for a month or more. The Ecobee + or Ecobee Plus energy saving feature is software feature that takes data from your thermostat usage habits to optimize your energy savings. It can also be used in conjunction with your energy usage rates or TOU (time of use) rates to help save you money during peak demand hours if you have electricity rates that fluctuate with electricity demand.
