I Found an Abandoned Squatter Camp While Stealth Camping in France | Urban Wild

Stealth camping in France while bikepacking led me to a strange discovery — an abandoned pallet squatter camp hidden deep in the forest. Instead of moving on, I turned the rough pallet structure into a survival shelter for the night and made the best of what was already there. While cycling across France looking for places to sleep, you sometimes stumble across things you don't expect. This time it was what looked like an abandoned squatters camp built from pallets in the middle of the woods. This episode of the French Connection series becomes a throwback to my early London street survival days — making do with whatever you find around you. Pallets on the ground, scrap shelter walls, and a bit of improvisation turned the place into a surprisingly decent place to sleep. Dinner is cooked on the Bushbox with steak and wraps before settling in for the night surrounded by what appears to be an old battlefield forest somewhere in rural France. Cycling across France.
