#wayoftheroads #abandoned #vanlife 🎥 The Forgotten Railway of Eastern Canada | Abandoned Amusement Park in the Newfoundland Wilderness The East Coast Adventure continues and this week we try to find some of the lesser known spots to visit here in Newfoundland. The Trinity Loop was a section of Newfoundland's historic narrow-gauge railway that once connected communities along Trinity Bay to the rest of the island. Built in the late 1800s as part of the Newfoundland Railway, it played a vital role in transporting passengers, mail, timber, and supplies to remote outports. After Newfoundland joined Canada in 1949, highway construction gradually replaced rail travel, and the railway was officially abandoned in 1988. A portion of the former railway near Trinity was transformed into the Trinity Loop Amusement Park, featuring a miniature train ride, petting zoo, playgrounds, and family attractions. The park attracted visitors for several years but struggled financially and eventually closed.
