After many kilometers driving through the Uruguayan countryside in our 1987 Chevette, we finally arrived in San Gregorio de Polanco, one of the most unique and charming towns in the country! On the shores of the gigantic Lake Rincón del Bonete, we found landscapes we never imagined seeing in Uruguay. Water everywhere, white sand beaches, and a view that looks more like a coastline lost in the middle of the country. We explored the town, learned a bit about its history, and looked for a place to spend the night.
