A Panorama report revealed allegations of mistreatment of children between the ages of 0 and 3 who attend the "Caritas Felices" (Happy Faces) daycare center, located at the headquarters of the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP). The investigation includes audio recordings, videos, and testimonies from former employees describing yelling, insults, and other inappropriate practices during the children's care. According to the report, evidence shows a caregiver sleeping during her shift while the children were resting, as well as offensive language such as "fat," "slut," "dirty," and "crybaby" directed at the children. Testimonies also indicate that some children were allegedly forced to continue eating even after vomiting. Following the complaint, the Ombudsman's Office conducted an inspection of the daycare center and referred the case to the Public Prosecutor's Office for evaluation and to determine whether to initiate the corresponding investigations. The Ombudsman's Office also indicated that it will issue recommendations after the inspection. For its part, the Ministry of Women stated in a press release that the images disseminated do not correspond to the current administration of Minister Edith Pariona and specified that the case was referred to the area of ​​disciplinary administrative procedures to determine responsibilities and adopt the corresponding measures.
