The short vowels (light dot and light dash) can be remembered by repeating the sentence "That pen is not much good". i.e word that giving sound a, pen - e, is - i, not - o, much - u, good - oo. Always practice Pitman Shorthand with pencil and make the thin strokes, light vowel signs LIGHT and thick strokes, dark vowel signs DARK. Pitman Shorthand language increases the speed, fluency in writing.
